Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Follow all sewing instructions, production procedures, and quality standards.
- Operate industrial sewing machines and related equipment, including pattern plates, needles, presser feet, cutting tools, and blades.
- Read and interpret work orders, specifications, measurements, and sewing instructions to determine material requirements, machine settings, and assembly methods.
- Thread sewing machines, replace needles, adjust machine settings, and perform routine machine cleaning and maintenance.
- Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
- Repair or rework defective products as needed to meet quality requirements.
- Align and position materials and components accurately to ensure proper assembly and stitching.
- Monitor machine performance and identify issues such as skipped stitches, thread breakage, material defects, or equipment malfunctions.
- Promptly report machine malfunctions, maintenance needs, or quality concerns to the supervisor.
- Maintain production efficiency while meeting established quality and productivity standards.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Follow all company policies, safety regulations, and standard operating procedures at all times.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices.
- Assist with other production-related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous sewing machine operation experience preferred.
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle fabric, materials, and sewing equipment.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Good vision, including close vision, to inspect stitching quality and product specifications.
- Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
