We are currently seeking a passionate, dynamic Science Teacher to join our collaborative academic team for the upcoming school year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruction & Curriculum: Deliver engaging, standards-aligned daily lessons in our Science classes, utilizing inquiry-based learning and interactive laboratory experiments.

  • Student Engagement: Cultivate a safe, inclusive classroom culture that encourages student discourse, scientific questioning, and evidence-based argumentation.

  • Assessment & Data Analysis: Utilize formative and summative assessments, tracking student performance data to tailor instruction and support diverse learning needs.

  • Collaboration: Work alongside the STEM/Science department team to align curriculum, plan cross-curricular projects, and participate in professional development.

  • Community & Communication: Maintain positive lines of communication with students, parents, and administration regarding academic progress and lab safety.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a Science discipline, STEM field, or Science Education (Master’s Degree preferred).

  • Certification: State Certification (or eligibility for New York State certification reciprocity / transitional paths) in Science or Elementary Education.

  • Experience: Prior student teaching or full-time secondary science classroom experience is strongly preferred.

  • Skills: Strong digital literacy (familiarity with platforms like ⁠Google Classroom or similar LMS tools), excellent organizational skills, and a dedication to urban/diverse student achievement.
