Longwall Maintenance Coordinator

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of all aspects of the longwall mining system by maximizing efficiencies by effectively utilizing the resources provided. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Plans, directs and monitors all activity for longwall maintenance including recovery, rebuild, and. Setup. Coordinates support of longwall, maintenance and outby crews with appropriate mine management. Responsible for attaining optimum level of operating and cost efficiency for longwall maintenance activities. Recommends and implements improvements in equipment and maintenance methods. Conducts meetings and organizes training to improve overall longwall performance. Sets goals, priorities, and standards through communication and cooperation with all departments. Responsible for recommending longwall equipment selection/modifications. Will play an active role in contracts, equipment specifications, warranties. Approves longwall material and supply orders to an authorized approval level.Coordinates longwall maintenance with the maintenance department and shift coordinators to minimize downtime. Implements all safety policies and procedures related to an injury free work environment.Develops, implements, and monitors cost reduction plans and productivity improvements.Develop and implement the predictive and preventive maintenance program for longwall equipment PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated successful underground coal mining supervisory experienceTen years underground mining experience with a diverse background in longwall, CM operations and general mine work S Degree in mining, mechanical, or electrical engineering is desirable Must have a comprehensive understanding of both longwall and continuous mining methodsGood planning and organizational SkillsStrong leadership abilityCurrent Utah Mine Foreman CertificationMSHA Electrical Certification Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent communications (oral and written) skillsComputer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word are requiredAbout Us Wolverine Fuels, LLC is a leading producer of high-quality, clean-burning coal, serving markets worldwide. Sufco employs approximately 425 individuals and operates a longwall and three continuous miner sections. The mine produces 3.5 to 4.0 million tons per year of high BTU, low sulfur coal.
