Welder

Job Summary: Under the general direction of the Maintenance Superintendent, the Welder will be responsible for maintenance, repairs and fabrication work on mine related equipment such as (but not limited to) draglines, mobile and support equipment, and coal plant. Successful candidate must be able to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays. Some overtime may be required. Regular reliable attendance is required. Essential Job Functions:Must be able to arch weld, use wire feed welders, weld dual shield, use lance, cutting with torch, cutting with air arch and plasma cutter. Must be efficient in overhead and vertical welding. Must have fabrication skills. Minimum Requirements:Must be legally eligible to work in the United StatesMust successfully complete pre-employment testingMust be 18 years of age or olderMust possess a High School Diploma or GEDMust possess a valid driver's licenseEducation/Experience Requirements:Must possess a current welding certificateMust have 2 years of related experience and/or a Welding Technology degreeMust possess basic toolsPhysical Requirements:While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, push/pull, climb, and reach; occasionally kneel, squat, bend, and twist. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.Employee may be required to work in environments that may include exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, dust, noise, fumes and gasses.Must be able to work at extreme heights up 200 foot in man basket.Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toed boots, and as needed: respirator, gloves, fall protection, protective clothing, goggles, face shield and other protective equipment as required.
