About the Position

We are currently seeking an experienced Emergency Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our Emergency & Critical Care team. This is a full-time weekend position working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7 AM–7 PM.

The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills, a positive attitude, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine passion for providing high-quality emergency veterinary care.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with emergency and critical care patients
  • Provide compassionate client service through communication, education, and relationship building
  • Perform veterinary diagnostics including digital radiographs, bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal testing, and cytology
  • Administer medications via IV, SQ, IM, and PO routes
  • Place and maintain intravenous catheters
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians with sedated procedures, including laceration repairs
  • Provide care and monitoring for hospitalized veterinary patients
  • Assist with patient treatments and emergency procedures as needed
  • Dispense and prepare medications under veterinary direction
  • Clean, organize, and restock treatment and patient care areas
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient emergency veterinary environment
  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service team members

Skills Knowledge and Expertise
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical veterinary experience required
  • Veterinary emergency or critical care experience is preferred
  • Strong veterinary technical and patient-care skills
  • Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced emergency environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume ER setting
  • Genuine passion for animal health, emergency medicine, and saving lives

Because we are a 24-hour emergency and specialty veterinary hospital, flexibility for occasional nights, weekends, and holidays may be required.
