Our client, an established credit union, is seeking an experienced Originator to support consumer and residential lending activities. This role is ideal for a lending professional who enjoys working directly with members, evaluating loan opportunities, and building strong relationships with referral partners while ensuring compliance with established policies and regulatory requirements.

What You’ll do...

• Process consumer loan applications from initial interview through decisioning.

• Gather and review loan documentation and supporting information.

• Evaluate creditworthiness, income, employment, collateral, and debt ratios.

• Approve loans within established authority limits.

• Present loan requests that exceed lending authority for approval.

• Originate mortgage, home equity, HELOC, construction, bridge, and related lending products.

• Conduct prequalification interviews and prepare complete loan packages.

• Advise members on mortgage products that align with their needs.

• Develop and maintain referral relationships with realtors, builders, developers, and members.

• Support business development efforts and seek opportunities to increase loan volume.

• Explain loan decisions, policies, rates, and lending alternatives to members.

• Ensure lending activity complies with credit union policies and regulatory requirements.

• Cross sell credit union services and lending related products.

• Coordinate with internal departments and assist lending team members as needed.


What You’ll bring...

• High school diploma.

• Three years of related experience and/or training.

• Understanding of legal and regulatory lending requirements and loan documentation.

• Knowledge of consumer and residential lending practices.

• Understanding of creditworthiness evaluation principles.

• Knowledge of credit union lending products, policies, procedures, processing, and underwriting guidelines.

• Familiarity with title reports, insurance, and appraisals.

• Strong organizational, communication, time management, and member service skills.


This is an on-site role in Ludlow, MA. The salary range of this role is $60,000 - $65,000 depending on experience.
