Maintenance Technician Role Description

Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the complete customer experience, ensuring 100% customer satisfaction. This will include maintenance of HVAC equipment and when necessary expedient repair vs. replacement discussions for the customer’s HVAC equipment problems.

Maintenance Technician Essential Duties:

• Inspect, and maintain HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and filter replacement.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems in HVAC systems using appropriate tools and testing equipment.
• Repair or replace defective components such as motors, fans and thermostats.
• Test system performance and adjust controls to maintain proper operation.

• Ensure proper calibration of controls, wiring, and safety systems.
• Verify refrigerant levels, pressure readings, and airflow after installation.

• Handle and dispose of refrigerants and other hazardous materials according to EPA guidelines.
• Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner.
• Explain system issues and recommended repairs to customers in clear, simple terms.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed, parts used, and recommendations for future service.
• Complete service reports, work orders, and preventive maintenance logs in a clear and timely manner.
• Keep up-to-date with new HVAC technologies, tools, and repair methods.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to improve efficiency and service quality.
