Position Description: About the RoleDACUT Cannabis is seeking an experienced HVAC & Facilities Maintenance Technician to support our commercial cultivation facilities in Flint, Michigan.This is a hands-on technical position with a strong focus on commercial HVAC and environmental control systems supporting large-scale indoor cannabis cultivation. The ideal candidate has direct experience working with Agronomic IQ systems, commercial HVAC equipment, and controlled-environment facilities.Previous Agronomic IQ experience is required for this position.In addition to HVAC responsibilities, we are looking for a well-rounded maintenance professional with experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general facility systems.Our cultivation facilities rely heavily on precise temperature, humidity, airflow, and environmental controls. The person in this position must understand the importance of maintaining these systems, responding quickly to equipment failures, and performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and protect cultivation operations.Essential ResponsibilitiesCommercial HVAC & Environmental ControlsMaintain, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial HVAC systems throughout our cultivation facilities.Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Agronomic IQ environmental control systems.Monitor HVAC performance to maintain proper temperature, humidity, airflow, and environmental conditions within cultivation rooms.Diagnose HVAC and environmental control issues quickly to minimize downtime and potential crop impact.Troubleshoot compressors, motors, fans, pumps, sensors, controls, and related HVAC components.Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HVAC and environmental equipment.Respond to environmental alarms and equipment failures.Coordinate with outside HVAC contractors and equipment manufacturers when necessary.Preventative MaintenancePerform scheduled preventative maintenance on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and facility equipment.Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential failures before they impact operations.Replace filters, belts, motors, sensors, and other components as required.Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.Document repairs, inspections, preventative maintenance, and equipment issues.Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend long-term solutions.ElectricalTroubleshoot basic commercial electrical issues throughout the facilities.Diagnose problems involving lighting, outlets, circuits, motors, pumps, controls, and equipment.Perform electrical repairs within the individual's qualifications and licensing.Assist with troubleshooting electrical components associated with HVAC and cultivation equipment.Identify electrical issues requiring a licensed electrician and coordinate repairs when necessary.Plumbing & Water SystemsDiagnose and repair basic plumbing issues.Maintain water supply, drainage, pumps, valves, piping, and related facility systems.Assist with irrigation and cultivation water systems as needed.Respond quickly to leaks, drainage issues, and other plumbing emergencies.Coordinate larger plumbing repairs with outside contractors when necessary.General Facility MaintenancePerform general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout cultivation facilities.Troubleshoot mechanical and facility equipment.Assist with doors, hardware, lighting, fixtures, pumps, fans, and other building systems.Maintain organized maintenance areas, tools, equipment, and replacement parts.Support facility improvement and equipment installation projects.Work closely with Cultivation leadership to address facility issues affecting production.Emergency ResponseRespond quickly to HVAC failures, environmental alarms, electrical issues, plumbing leaks, and other critical facility problems.Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective action.Assist with after-hours emergency maintenance situations when required.Communicate critical facility issues and repair status to leadership.Prioritize repairs based on operational impact and urgency.Safety & ComplianceFollow all company safety procedures and maintenance SOPs.Follow proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Maintain safe and organized maintenance work areas.Ensure repairs and installations meet applicable safety and building requirements.Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and inspections.QualificationsRequiredHands-on experience with Agronomic IQ HVAC/environmental control systems is required.3+ years of commercial HVAC installation, service, maintenance, or repair experience.Strong commercial HVAC troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.Experience working with environmental controls, dehumidification, temperature control, and humidity management.Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.Ability to independently diagnose equipment problems and determine appropriate repairs.Valid driver's license.Must have a reliable personal vehicle for travel between Flint-area cultivation facilities.Ability to respond to urgent maintenance situations when required.Highly PreferredMichigan HVAC/mechanical licensing or applicable trade licensing is highly preferred.EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.Commercial electrical troubleshooting and repair experience.Commercial plumbing experience.Experience working with AAON HVAC equipment.Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).Experience with industrial dehumidification equipment.Experience working in controlled-environment agriculture (CEA), cannabis cultivation, greenhouse operations, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or similar controlled environments.Experience working across multiple commercial facilities.What We to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, masks, and protective clothing.Ability to distinguish colors accurately for product identification, labeling, and quality control purposes.Ability to read labels, computer screens, safety signage, and printed documentation.Ability to maintain focus and attention to detail while performing repetitive tasks.Ability to safely operate basic office equipment, computers, tablets, scanners, and handheld inventory devices as required.Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules based on business needs.Ability to perform essential job functions safely while complying with all company policies and workplace safety procedures.
