Job Description

The Aquatic Technician plays an essential support role within the Facilities Team, helping to maintain safe, clean, and well-functioning spa and aquatic environments at SunWater Spa. This Full-Time position supports senior team members during water checks and contributes to the daily upkeep of pools, tubs, and public areas. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn are key to success in this role.

Essential FunctionsAquatic Operations & Water Quality
  • Perform basic water testing and report results to Tech 3 or Facilities Manager.
  • Assist with water balancing and chemical applications under supervision.
  • Support cleaning and maintenance of pools and tubs, including skimming, filter checks, and filling.
Tub Cleaning & Maintenance
  • Disassemble, deep clean, and reassemble tubs as needed to maintain sanitation standards.
  • Identify and report any issues with components or water systems.
  • Work alongside senior team members to understand pump room and tub mechanics.
Facilities Cleaning & Guest Support
  • Maintain cleanliness of public areas including bathrooms, showers, locker rooms, and windows.
  • Remove trash, debris, and hazards throughout the property.
  • Load and unload tools, chemicals, and supplies from service vehicles.
  • Assist guests and coworkers courteously and professionally.
Safety & Communication
  • Follow all safety protocols when handling chemicals and tools.
  • Monitor the spa property for hazards such as slippery walkways, broken fixtures, or obstructive debris.
  • Keep work areas organized, clean, and properly stocked.
  • Maintain accurate service logs and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CPO certification preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of pool and tub maintenance (training provided).
  • Willingness to learn water chemistry, spa systems, and maintenance tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in cleanliness.
  • Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, work on stairs, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable transportation in all weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk, climb stairs, and stand for long periods.
  • Mobility to reach, kneel, squat, and bend regularly.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfort working outdoors in varying temperatures and weather.
