Lynntech is seeking a Research Engineer to develop and evaluate technologies for a variety of aerospace and defense applications. This hands-on R&D role combines computational analysis, experimental testing, rapid prototyping, and hardware/software integration. Candidates with experience in controls, embedded systems, flight mechanics, or related areas are especially encouraged to apply. The position is full-time and on-site in College Station, Texas.General Duties and Responsibilities:Developing computational analyses, simulations, and data-processing workflowsAssisting in the design and execution of laboratory and field experimentsDesigning and implementing data-acquisition approaches using imaging, acoustic, RF, and other electronic sensorsAnalyzing experimental data and translating results into engineering conclusions and recommendationsMaintaining a laboratory notebook as a detailed log of experiments, results, and ongoing research effortsGenerating formal written reports of research effortsContributing to proposal developmentPerforming other duties as assignedRequired Skills and Education:Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, physics, applied mathematics, or a related fieldAbility to design and carry out experiments with limited supervisionData management and technical reporting skillsAbility to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary teamAbility to interact with scientists and researchers from other disciplinesAbility to clearly communicate technical concepts, results, and recommendations in written reports and presentationsDesired Experience: Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable; candidates are not expected to have experience in all areas:Aerodynamics, flight mechanics, and stability analysisState estimation, sensor fusion, and controlsEmbedded system development using microcontrollers, SBCs, FPGAs, or similar hardwareResearch, product development, or rapid-prototyping experience through industry, academic research, internships, or substantial project workProgramming experience in Python, Rust, C/C++, MATLAB, and/or LabVIEWLinux system administration / configurationPrototype hardware fabrication and testingAbout Lynntech: Lynntech develops innovative technologies and products for defense, aerospace, medical, and energy applications.
