Step into a day on our Day Shift

You arrive just before 5:00am, grab the overnight handoff, and by 5:00am the line is waking up. From Monday through Thursday, you work a 4x10 schedule (5:00am–3:30pm) focused on keeping production in Canton, Ohio running smoothly and safely.

What your day looks like
  • Kick off with preventive checks on conveyors, CNC equipment, and robotic cells—cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting critical components.
  • Diagnose issues the moment they surface—electro-mechanical troubleshooting, from 120/208/240/480V systems to sensors, drives, and controls.
  • Program and fine-tune PLCs; verify I/O, adjust logic, and get machines back on spec.
  • Read and interpret schematics, P&IDs, and blueprints; fabricate or modify parts when needed to keep uptime high.
  • Repair or replace worn mechanical and electrical components: bearings, gearboxes, motors, transformers, wiring, valves, and regulators.
  • Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic circuits—layout, assemble, and service pipe systems; replace gauges, valves, and pressure regulators.
  • Partner with Production Supervisors and Machine Operators—coach operators on troubleshooting techniques and safe best practices.
  • Document work requests, track OEE-related observations, and support preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives that drive continuous improvement at AmbaFlex Manufacturing.
Your core responsibilities
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on manufacturing assets.
  • Troubleshoot automated and robotic systems; install, program, and repair robots and programmable controllers.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery; dismantle, repair, and reinstall equipment and parts.
  • Listen for abnormal sounds and collaborate with supervisors/maintenance teammates to diagnose root causes.
  • Install/repair electrical apparatus (e.g., transformers, wiring, machine components).
  • Fabricate components as required to meet production needs.
Reporting and teamwork

You report to the Production Manager and collaborate daily with Production Supervisors, taking on reasonable requests that support safety, quality, and output goals. The maintenance department owns both day-to-day reliability and long-range improvements for the facility.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Hands-on experience as a mechanic/maintenance tech in a production environment.
  • Fluency in reading technical specs, electrical prints, mechanical drawings, and blueprints.
  • Detail-driven, follows documented procedures, and committed to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Adaptable, calm under pressure, able to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced setting.
  • Computer literate; proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Completion of CNC, VFD, and PLC training (or provide valid certificates).
  • Forklift truck certification and lifting certification.
