Role Summary
Grille Mechanical Contractors is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, maintain, and recommend solutions for residential and commercial HVAC systems throughout the Jersey Shore market. The ideal technician brings at least five years of field experience, communicates professionally with customers, and can work independently across a variety of equipment. Commercial refrigeration experience is a major plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential and commercial HVAC systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections.
- Troubleshoot heating and air-conditioning equipment.
- Service furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, split and ductless systems.
- Troubleshoot light commercial equipment and rooftop units.
- Service refrigeration equipment when qualified, including walk-ins, reach-ins, prep units, and ice machines.
- Clearly communicate findings and repair recommendations to customers.
- Identify legitimate replacement opportunities when equipment is no longer economical to repair.
- Document service activity accurately through Jobber/mobile technology.
- Maintain professional, clean work practices in customer homes and businesses.
- Participate in the rotating weekend on-call schedule.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and assigned equipment responsibly.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on HVAC service experience.
- Residential and commercial HVAC experience.
- EPA certification.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Strong diagnostic/troubleshooting ability.
- Comfortable using mobile technology and field-service software.
- Professional communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to reliably commute to the Wall / Point Pleasant Beach area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial refrigeration experience.
- Boiler experience.
- Walk-in cooler/freezer and commercial ice machine experience.
- Experience across multiple HVAC brands and equipment types.
- Experience selling/recommending replacement systems based on legitimate customer needs.
