Job Description

Job Description
Join Our Post-Op Care Team

RNS Private Duty Care is looking for experienced RNs, LPNs, and highly skilled CNAs to join our growing Post-Op Care Team.

Our Post-Op program provides private-duty support to clients recovering from surgical procedures in the comfort of their own homes or hotels. This is a unique opportunity for healthcare professionals and experienced caregivers who enjoy providing high-quality, one-on-one care and want to be part of a professional team focused on the client’s safety, comfort, and recovery.

Why Join Our Post-Op Team?
  • Competitive pay for experienced professionals

  • Nurse wages: $30-45$/hr based on experience and credentials

  • CNA wages: $28/hr

  • PRN/part time scheduling - post-op shifts are offered based on client needs and your availability

  • 12-hour shifts and shorter shifts may be available depending on the assignment

  • One-on-one care with post-surgical clients

  • Work alongside a dedicated RNS Post-Op Care Team

  • Support from RNS leadership and nurse case management

  • Carefully screened clients and assignments

  • Opportunity to work with a variety of surgical recovery needs

  • Meaningful work where your skills and experience directly impact a client’s recovery

What Does PRN Mean?

Our Post-Op positions are PRN, meaning shifts are offered as post-op clients are scheduled and based on your availability.

You are not required to maintain a set weekly schedule. Instead, our team communicates upcoming post-op opportunities and works with available team members to staff each assignment appropriately.

Because post-op clients rely on us for consistent, dependable care, accepting a shift means committing to that assignment in its entirety and arriving prepared to provide excellent care.

What We Expect From Our Post-Op Care Team:

Our post-op clients are often recovering from major procedures and may require a higher level of attention and support than a typical private-duty assignment.

We expect our team members to:

  • Arrive on time and prepared for every scheduled shift

  • Provide attentive, professional, one-on-one care throughout the assignment

  • Closely monitor the client and communicate changes or concerns promptly

  • Follow the client’s post-operative care instructions and RNS care plan

  • Assist with mobility, transfers, toileting, bathing, dressing, and other activities of daily living as appropriate

  • Monitor for fall risks and other safety concerns

  • Take and document vital signs when required

  • Provide medication reminders and assist with non-medical aspects of the recovery plan

  • Encourage hydration, nutrition, mobility, and other recovery activities as directed by the client’s medical team

  • Maintain appropriate communication with the client, family, RNS case manager, and other members of the care team

  • Complete all required documentation accurately and timely

  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor

  • Protect client privacy and follow HIPAA and all RNS policies

  • Remain engaged and attentive throughout the shift

  • Understand that post-op care requires flexibility, professionalism, and strong clinical judgment
