Job Description
RNS Private Duty Care is looking for experienced RNs, LPNs, and highly skilled CNAs to join our growing Post-Op Care Team.
Our Post-Op program provides private-duty support to clients recovering from surgical procedures in the comfort of their own homes or hotels. This is a unique opportunity for healthcare professionals and experienced caregivers who enjoy providing high-quality, one-on-one care and want to be part of a professional team focused on the client’s safety, comfort, and recovery.

Nurse wages: $30-45$/hr based on experience and credentials
CNA wages: $28/hr
PRN/part time scheduling - post-op shifts are offered based on client needs and your availability
12-hour shifts and shorter shifts may be available depending on the assignment

Our Post-Op positions are PRN, meaning shifts are offered as post-op clients are scheduled and based on your availability.
You are not required to maintain a set weekly schedule. Instead, our team communicates upcoming post-op opportunities and works with available team members to staff each assignment appropriately.
Because post-op clients rely on us for consistent, dependable care, accepting a shift means committing to that assignment in its entirety and arriving prepared to provide excellent care.
What We Expect From Our Post-Op Care Team:Our post-op clients are often recovering from major procedures and may require a higher level of attention and support than a typical private-duty assignment.
We expect our team members to:
Arrive on time and prepared for every scheduled shift
Provide attentive, professional, one-on-one care throughout the assignment
Closely monitor the client and communicate changes or concerns promptly
Follow the client’s post-operative care instructions and RNS care plan
Assist with mobility, transfers, toileting, bathing, dressing, and other activities of daily living as appropriate
Monitor for fall risks and other safety concerns
Take and document vital signs when required
Provide medication reminders and assist with non-medical aspects of the recovery plan
Encourage hydration, nutrition, mobility, and other recovery activities as directed by the client’s medical team
Maintain appropriate communication with the client, family, RNS case manager, and other members of the care team
Complete all required documentation accurately and timely
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
Protect client privacy and follow HIPAA and all RNS policies
Remain engaged and attentive throughout the shift

Understand that post-op care requires flexibility, professionalism, and strong clinical judgment
We are looking for nurses who are confident providing private-duty care and comfortable caring for clients during the immediate post-operative recovery period.
Ideal candidates are:
Current RN or LPN license in good standing
Private-duty, home health, hospital, surgical, or post-op experience preferred
Strong assessment and communication skills
Comfortable working independently in a client’s home or hotel
Able to recognize and appropriately report changes in condition
Professional, dependable, and responsive

Comfortable collaborating with physicians, families, case managers, and other caregivers
We are also seeking experienced caregivers who are comfortable caring for clients recovering from surgery and can confidently provide hands-on assistance while following the direction of the nursing and RNS care team.
Ideal candidates have:
Significant private-duty, home care, CNA, or healthcare experience
Experience with transfers, mobility assistance, fall prevention, ADLs, and post-hospital care
Strong observation and communication skills
Confidence working independently
Excellent reliability and professionalism

The ability to recognize concerns and communicate them promptly to the nurse or RNS care team
High School Diploma
Required nursing license for RN/LPN positions
Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire
Current TB test or willingness to complete within 90 days of hire
Licensed driver with a clean driving record and compliance with RNS safety policies
Reliable, insured vehicle
Cell phone with internet and texting capabilities
Daily access to RNS email
Fluent in English
