Position Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, hands-on care to residents in a nursing home setting. This role supports both short-term rehabilitation patients and long-term residents by assisting with daily living activities, monitoring health status, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment. CNAs work closely with nurses and other healthcare staff to promote comfort, dignity, and quality of life for all residents.

Resident Care
Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, eating, and mobility.
Monitor and record vital signs and report changes in condition to nursing staff.
Support residents with rehabilitation exercises and mobility as directed.
Provide companionship and emotional support to promote residents’ well-being.
Safety & Environment
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment in resident rooms and common areas.
Follow infection control and safety protocols at all times.
Assist with positioning and transferring residents safely using proper body mechanics and equipment.
Communication & Documentation
Accurately document care provided and observations in residents’ records.
Communicate effectively with nursing staff, residents, and families.
Participate in care plan meetings and follow individualized care plans.
Team Collaboration
Work with nurses, therapists, and other staff to support resident care goals.
Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes for residents.
Respond promptly to resident call lights and needs.
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Certification: Active state certification as a CNA.
Experience: Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility preferred.

Schedule: Full-time or part-time; may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift or move residents (up to 50 lbs), stand for extended periods, and perform physical caregiving tasks.
