Job Description
Industrial Packaging Maintenance Mechanic (Electro-Mechanical)

$2,000 sign-on bonus paid at 30 days. Overtime available.

Step into a fast-paced manufacturing floor where uptime and safety go hand-in-hand. You’ll be the go-to partner for operators and supervisors—fielding maintenance calls, diagnosing issues, and keeping packaging lines running smoothly. Expect to spend most of your shift on the move (80–90% on your feet), rotating between preventive maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and precision changeovers.

What a typical day looks like
  • Start with work orders and preventive maintenance plans—review prints, schematics, wiring diagrams, facility check sheets, machine manuals, PM sheets, and instructions.
  • Respond to equipment calls: quickly troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults to minimize downtime.
  • Tear down, rebuild, and reassemble component units—motors, gearboxes, clutches, bearings, electrical assemblies—then perform final alignments and adjustments.
  • Execute and refine changeovers: simplify procedures, assist line workers, and set up fill lines for the next production run.
  • Partner with supervisors on daily line operations; collaborate with various levels of management.
  • Document work performed and participate in meetings, special projects, and other assigned duties.
  • Work safely at all times, using and promoting required PPE and plant safety policies.
Equipment you’ll support

Carton erectors, carton sealers, liquid fillers, case packers, palletizers, cappers, conveyors, labelers, and more. Experience with blow molding—especially Uniloy or Bekum blowmolders—is a strong plus.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (required).
  • Solid knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems; basic knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Working knowledge of electricity: AC 480–120V and DC 180V–low-voltage controls.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability across electrical and mechanical systems (pneumatic, gearboxes, hydraulic, cam-type).
  • Provide your own basic mechanic’s hand tools.
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to lift and move 40–60 lbs (up to 55 lbs routinely) and maintain good visual accuracy.
  • Comfortable being on your feet 80–90% of the shift, walking the floor and answering calls.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends when required; meet fast-paced goals and quality standards.
