MIG Welder Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, black steel, and alloys, with a primary focus on mild steel fabrication.
- Weld thinner gauge materials up to 1/8" thick while maintaining high-quality workmanship and precision.
- Read and interpret welding blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Use welding fixtures to properly position and secure components for assembly.
- Move fixtures and materials into welding bays as needed.
- Measure and fit parts accurately using a tape measure down to 1/32".
- Complete fitting, fabrication, welding, and finishing work according to production requirements.
- Utilize MIG welding equipment and assist with flux core and stick welding processes when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized welding booth.
- Collaborate with production team members to achieve quality, productivity, and safety goals.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of recent MIG welding experience OR completion of formal welding training.
- Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints.
- Ability to pass a blueprint reading assessment.
- Strong tape measure skills with accuracy to 1/32".
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Experience welding mild steel in a production or fabrication environment.
- Familiarity with fixture welding and fabrication drawings.
- Basic knowledge of flux core and stick welding.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two-year welding degree or technical diploma.
- Pipe welding experience.
- Previous fabrication shop experience.
- Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, black steel, and various alloys.
- Strong fitting and fabrication skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and craftsmanship.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Delano, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
