Special Education Teacher - Kenner, LA

This full-time contract role, located near Kenner and Reserve, LA, spans the academic year from August 3, 2026, through May 26, 2027, offering a consistent schedule of 35 hours per week.

The elementary SPED Teacher will support students with diverse learning needs, adapting instruction to foster academic and personal growth. This role calls for flexibility and confidence across varied classroom environments within the school community.

Qualifications:

• Current Louisiana Special Education (SPED) Educator Certificate, required
• Experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably at the elementary level
• Strong skills in developing and implementing IEPs and instructional adaptations
• Excellent communication and collaborative abilities with students, families, and staff
• Ability to manage inclusive and self-contained classroom settings
• Organizational skills and patience for individualized student support

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to elementary-aged students with special needs
• Develop, update, and implement IEPs in alignment with local and federal standards
• Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Collaborate with general education staff, paraprofessionals, and parents to support learning objectives
