Physical Therapist - School Setting in Springfield, MA
Job Description
Take your expertise in physical therapy to the next level by supporting elementary and middle school students in a vibrant educational environment near Springfield, MA. This contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated PT or PTA who is passionate about helping young learners reach their full physical potential in a school-based setting.
The assignment runs from August 24th, 2026 through June 2027, with a manageable caseload of 11-15 students, three days a week. Enjoy working with students in both elementary and middle school, focusing on developing their mobility, motor skills, and confidence in an inclusive, collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
- Current Massachusetts Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) licensure
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to provide individualized and group therapy sessions
- Commitment to supporting students’ educational and developmental goals
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical therapy services to students based on their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Assess students’ motor and functional skills, documenting progress and adjusting interventions as needed
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team planning
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
