Key Qualifications:
- Active and valid ME Special Education Teacher License required
- Background in special education for grades 6-12, with a strong understanding of IEP procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to coordinate and collaborate effectively with school staff
- Flexibility to shift support as needed based on varying IEP schedules
Primary Responsibilities:
- Attend IEP meetings, typically scheduled before or after school hours in collaboration with staff availability and school needs
- Draft Written Notices and prepare other required documentation associated with IEP meetings
- Assist with updating and entering information in IEPs to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Provide consistent support for meeting IEP deadlines and managing the necessary paperwork
- Coordinate regularly with staff in both high school and middle school buildings to provide timely assistance
- Adjust to support needs as they vary week-to-week, meeting shifting priorities and demands
