Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting young learners as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the upcoming school year. This full-time position is designed to provide specialized services across elementary education classrooms, primarily focusing on articulation and fluency needs. You will cover a leave from early September through late November, with the possibility of extension. The role is based in an engaging educational setting near the Rochester, NY area, allowing you to make a significant difference during a formative stage in students’ development.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure and ASHA CCC-SLP certification (or eligibility)
- Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Strong foundation in supporting articulation and fluency interventions
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Adaptability to work full-time across various education classrooms at the elementary level
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language therapy to elementary students, focusing on articulation and fluency goals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to provide integrated educational and therapeutic services
- Assess, develop, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain thorough and timely progress reports and documentation
- Communicate effectively with families and provide resources as needed to support student success
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, supportive environment
