Job Description

The Warehouse & Project Operations Coordinator / Project Engineer plays a key role in supporting material management, logistics coordination, and overall project operations for a large-scale construction project in Santa Clara, CA. This hands-on position combines daily warehouse management with project coordination responsibilities and is ideal for professionals with experience in construction, manufacturing, industrial operations, logistics, or material management. The role focuses on tracking materials from procurement through installation, coordinating deliveries, maintaining accurate inventory, and facilitating clear communication between vendors, field teams, and project leadership to keep work progressing efficiently and on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, inspection, storage, inventory control, and material distribution.
  • Track project materials from procurement through final installation to ensure availability and accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and material tracking logs using appropriate systems and tools.
  • Coordinate deliveries and ensure materials are received, inspected, and stored properly in designated locations.
  • Monitor material shortages, damaged goods, and inventory discrepancies, and escalate or resolve issues promptly.
  • Organize and optimize warehouse layout to maximize efficiency, safety, and material accessibility.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and effectively in accordance with site procedures.
  • Support project teams with logistics planning and material forecasting to align with project schedules.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure timely material delivery to the site.
  • Track and communicate material status, lead times, and delivery schedules to project leadership and field teams.
  • Assist with project reporting and operational documentation related to materials, logistics, and warehouse activities.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and provide clear updates on inventory levels, deliveries, and logistics constraints.
  • Help identify and resolve material and supply chain challenges that could impact project schedules or field productivity.
  • Support field operations by ensuring crews have the tools, equipment, and materials required to maintain productivity.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to bridge the gap between materials management and construction execution.
  • Apply a safety-focused mindset in all warehouse and field logistics activities and promote safe equipment use.
  • Demonstrate a hands-on, proactive approach by stepping in where needed to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders to align priorities and maintain clear communication channels.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, material management, logistics, or construction support.
  • Proven experience supporting construction, industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, mission-critical, or commercial projects.
  • Strong inventory management and material tracking experience in a high-activity environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel for reporting, tracking, and documentation.
  • Experience using inventory tracking systems or similar digital tools for material management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with project teams, vendors, and field personnel.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and structured processes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and field crews.
  • Hands-on, proactive approach to problem-solving and daily operations.
  • Strong attention to detail when tracking materials, documenting information, and coordinating logistics.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to address material, logistics, and supply chain challenges.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and stakeholders while maintaining alignment with project goals.
  • Demonstrated sense of ownership and accountability for assigned responsibilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Forklift certification or previous forklift operating experience is preferred.
  • Background in construction project support, warehouse management, material management, or logistics coordination.
  • Experience in procurement and inventory control functions is beneficial.
  • Exposure to industrial or manufacturing operations environments.
  • Experience working in semiconductor or mission-critical project environments.
  • Project management or construction management exposure, including coordination of materials and change-related impacts.
  • Familiarity with construction processes, RFIs, and engineering-related workflows is advantageous.
  • Comfort working in both warehouse and field environments and supporting active construction operations.

Work Environment

This role is based on-site in Santa Clara, CA, within a large-scale construction project environment that includes both warehouse and field operations. The coordinator spends significant time in the warehouse managing materials and equipment, as well as in the field supporting project teams and ensuring timely delivery and availability of resources. The work setting is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent coordination across vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, and field personnel. The position involves regular use of material handling equipment, including forklifts and other warehouse tools, and requires adherence to established safety practices and site procedures. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Jose, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
