IV Sterile Compounding Retail Pharmacist in Flushing, NY

A licensed pharmacist is needed for a contract position in a closed-door pharmacy setting in Flushing, NY. This role requires expertise in prescription dispensing, IV admixture preparation, sterile compounding, and patient medication management.

Schedule:

• Sunday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 1:00 PM – 11:30 PMDuration: 11 weeks

Responsibilities:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns.
• Ensure the supply and use of medications comply with legal regulations.
• Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate and safe for patients.
• Maintain confidential and precise records of patient information and pharmacy files.
• Provide consultation regarding medication storage, dosage, side effects, and interactions.
• Compound medications both for internal and external use, including sterile solutions.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
• Identify drug-related patient issues and collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare practitioners.
• Work closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacy interns, and other pharmacists to optimize patient care.

Qualifications:

• Minimum one year of pharmacy experience.
• IV compounding experience is preferred.
• Valid New York Pharmacy License is required.
