This role focuses on performing both reactive and preventive maintenance on a wide range of production machinery in a clean, organized manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electrical equipment, supports facility upkeep, and helps ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all production lines.
Responsibilities
- Perform reactive and preventive maintenance on all production machinery, including mixers, blenders, packaging equipment, filling machines, and conveyors.
- Troubleshoot and repair both mechanical and electrical issues on production equipment to minimize downtime.
- Work safely with electrical systems up to 480 volts while following proper procedures and best practices.
- Use a volt meter, blueprints, and electrical and mechanical schematics to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
- Perform welding and basic fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment and components.
- Maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic machinery, including identifying and resolving leaks, pressure issues, and component failures.
- Carry out general facilities maintenance as needed to support overall plant operations.
- Collaborate with other technicians, machine operators, and production staff on the floor to coordinate repairs and maintenance activities.
- Support equipment upgrades and modifications as the facility implements internal changes and improvements.
- Document maintenance activities accurately and communicate equipment status and issues to appropriate team members.
- Participate in training on day shift and transition to the assigned shift schedule as required.
- Work overtime and occasional weekend shifts during peak seasons to support production demands.
Essential Skills
- At least 5 years of experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience with both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs on production machinery.
- Hands-on experience working with electrical systems up to 480 volts, including safe use of a volt meter.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for mixers, blenders, packaging machinery, filling machinery, conveyors, and similar equipment.
- Experience working with pneumatic systems, including valves, cylinders, and air lines.
- Experience working with hydraulic systems, including pumps, hoses, and actuators.
- Capability to perform preventive maintenance routines to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life.
- Ownership of a basic set of tools suitable for industrial maintenance work.
- Ability to work safely around high-voltage equipment and moving machinery.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required during peak seasons.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- PLC experience, including basic understanding of controls and the ability to assist with troubleshooting automated systems.
- Welding and fabricating experience for equipment repair and modification.
- Experience in environments involving liquid packaging, food production, or pharmaceutical processing.
- Comfort working in a team-based environment alongside technicians, machine operators, and production staff.
- Strong communication skills to clearly explain issues, repairs, and maintenance needs.
- Ability to adapt to ongoing equipment upgrades and process improvements.

Work Environment
The role is based on the production floor, working closely with other maintenance technicians, machine operators, and laborers in a clean and organized facility. You will work with a range of production equipment, including mixers, blenders, packaging and filling machinery, conveyors, and both pneumatic and hydraulic systems. The position primarily follows a shift from 1:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with initial training on a day shift from 5:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. You must be willing to work overtime, with typical schedules reaching around 50 hours per week during peak season, and to work Saturdays or weekends when needed. The environment emphasizes safety, proper use of tools and test equipment such as volt meters, and adherence to procedures when working with high-voltage systems and moving machinery.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $73320.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
