Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity guiding preschool-aged children with unique learning needs for approximately 12 weeks, starting August 25, 2026. As a long-term substitute providing early childhood special education services, your expertise will drive both academic and developmental successes in a supportive setting. You’ll work full-time to help shape the early learning journey of students, fostering foundational skills, confidence, and growth.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for preschool level
- Previous experience working with preschool or early childhood populations
- Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong understanding of early childhood developmental milestones
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families, teachers, and support staff
- Adaptability and creativity in delivering individualized instruction
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to meet the needs of preschool students with disabilities
- Design and maintain a safe, nurturing, and accessible classroom environment to promote positive learning experiences
- Develop, implement, and track progress on student IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Support social, emotional, and cognitive development in alignment with individual student goals
- Collaborate closely with parents and caregivers to foster transitional skills and school readiness
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and school initiatives as required
