Special Education Teacher | Bedford, Ohio

The role encompasses two caseloads: one classroom supporting 9-12 students with multiple disabilities, including non-verbal learners, autism, and physical impairments; and a second classroom serving 10-15 students with emotional disabilities requiring social-emotional learning, individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and crisis intervention strategies. Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching license is required
• Previous experience working with multiple and emotional disabilities preferred
• Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs and BIPs
• Strong classroom management and crisis intervention skills
• Compassionate, patient, and collaborative approach
• Ability to tailor instruction for diverse learning styles and abilities

Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction for each class
• Develop and maintain IEPs and BIPs; collaborate with related service providers
• Employ a variety of assistive technologies and communication supports for non-verbal students
• Implement social-emotional learning and support positive behavioral outcomes
• Work closely with families, paraprofessionals, and support staff
• Maintain a safe, structured, supportive classroom environment

This contract begins August 24, 2026, and continues through June 7, 2027, with a consistent schedule totaling 37.5 hours weekly. Candidates will work in one location, with the potential assignment in either a middle school or primary setting based on caseload needs.
