Job Description
Bring your expertise in speech-language pathology to an engaging, supportive school environment, guiding students toward communication success. Two full-time contract opportunities are available for dedicated professionals ready to make a difference.
You’ll play a vital role in fostering each learner’s communication development, working within a school-based team. One opening is with elementary students within a traditional school setting, focusing on direct therapy, evaluations, and ongoing IEP management. The second position serves students from kindergarten through twelfth grade with complex needs, allowing you to apply specialized interventions, AAC, and provide multidisciplinary support.
Your qualifications include:
- Active North Carolina Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) strongly preferred.
- Experience working with elementary students or those with low-incidence disabilities (depending on your preferred location).
- Skill in developing and implementing IEP goals, conducting formal and informal assessments, and providing effective therapy.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering direct speech-language therapy services to students in alignment with IEPs.
- Conducting evaluations, progress monitoring, and reporting.
- Collaborating with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support holistic student growth.
- Creating adaptive communication strategies and integrating AAC devices where needed.
- Maintaining thorough documentation and compliance with state/district standards.
