Job Description

This contract opportunity places you at the heart of a welcoming and supportive district, serving students with developmental disabilities and behavioral or emotional support needs. You'll have the chance to collaborate within an engaged exceptional children’s program, experienced in implementing both push-in and pull-out IEP models. You'll work closely with colleagues, families, and support staff, ensuring students receive individualized interventions and enjoy a positive educational experience.
What you’ll need:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Special Education Teacher.
- Experience working with students who have developmental, emotional, or behavioral disabilities.
- Familiarity with writing and implementing IEPs, particularly in resource settings.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for partnering with faculty, staff, and families.
- Compassion, patience, and creativity to reach diverse learners.
- Ability to manage a caseload of 20 students or fewer.
What you’ll do:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to each student’s needs.
- Provide direct instruction and support through both push-in and pull-out models.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to modify curriculum and accommodate learning needs.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and staff development sessions.
- Create a structured and nurturing classroom environment that encourages growth and independence.
- Track student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
In addition to meaningful, hands-on work, enjoy the flexibility of a contract role, consistent weekly hours (37.5–40), and a pay rate starting at $38 per hour—commensurate with experience.
