Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and efficient Courier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations throughout the Poulsbo/Kitsap area.

This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to handle heavy lifting and moving tasks. As a Courier, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the flow of operations by ensuring that all deliveries are completed efficiently, safely, and within company guidelines.

To apply, everyone must be at least 21 years of age and able to work at least one weekend day. This position requires your total commitment and the availability necessary to complete your assigned work.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport goods to designated locations.
  • Take responsibility for the assigned truck, packages, route, and daily workload.
  • Load and unload items from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling of packages to prevent damage.
  • Complete all assigned deliveries and pickups according to company expectations.
  • Continue working on the assigned route until the truck is empty and all assigned tasks are completed, unless otherwise directed by management.
  • Follow assigned routes for timely deliveries and pickups while adhering to all traffic regulations and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any necessary documentation, such as photographs of deliveries, in accordance with FedEx guidelines.
  • Immediately report any damaged, missing, or undeliverable packages and any route-related issues to management.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and proper condition of the assigned vehicle.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and ensuring customer satisfaction during interactions.
  • Maintain a professional, dependable, and safety-focused attitude throughout all work assignments.
Skills & Qualifications

  1. Age & Availability: Must be at least 21 years of age and able to work at least one weekend day. This position requires a strong commitment of your time and availability.
  2. Driver Responsibility & Completion of Assigned Work: Each driver is responsible for their assigned truck, packages, route, and daily tasks. Drivers are expected to take ownership of their assigned vehicle and complete all assigned deliveries and pickups. The job is not considered complete simply because the scheduled shift or estimated delivery time has ended. Under normal circumstances, the driver's responsibilities are not complete until their assigned truck is empty and all assigned tasks have been completed, unless otherwise directed by management. Any issues that prevent a driver from completing their route or emptying their truck must be communicated to management as soon as possible.
  3. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  4. Previous experience as a delivery driver or courier is welcome.
  5. Ability to perform heavy lifting and moving tasks of up to 150 pounds as required.
  6. Experience driving commercial vehicles, including box trucks, is preferred.
  7. Good health sufficient to pass a DOT physical and required drug testing.
  8. Ability and willingness to comply with all company drug and substance-free workplace policies, including random testing.
  9. A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential for this position.
  10. Must be dependable and willing to commit the time necessary to complete assigned routes and responsibilities.
Drug & Substance-Free Workplace Requirements

Maintaining a safe, reliable, and drug-free workplace is an essential requirement of this position.

All employees must be willing and able to pass a required drug screening as a condition of employment. The use of illegal drugs is not permitted, and employees are expected to remain drug-free while employed.

Random drug testing may be conducted during employment. Marijuana is prohibited for this position due to the requirements of the industry and applicable DOT regulations.

Employees are expected to comply with all company drug and substance-free workplace policies throughout their employment.
