Job Description
This role operates and monitors production machinery in a metal fabrication facility that manufactures wire mesh for applications such as fencing, decking, and other industrial product lines. You will run equipment that fabricates metal, including stamping machines and other production machines used to create metal products, while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate wire mesh production equipment and related metal fabrication machinery in a safe and efficient manner.
- Run stamping machines and other metal-forming equipment to produce wire mesh and metal components according to specifications.
- Set up machines for production runs, including adjusting settings, installing tooling, and preparing materials.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools such as tape measures to perform machine setup, adjustments, and basic maintenance tasks.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical aptitude and strong mechanical inclination, with the ability to understand how machines and tools operate.
- Ability to safely operate production machinery and equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Comfort using hand tools and power tools for machine setup, adjustments, and basic repairs.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately and perform basic math for measurements.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous machine operation experience in a manufacturing or production setting is a strong plus.
- Experience with CNC machines and press brakes is beneficial.
- Experience in metal fabrication, machining, or working with equipment such as shears, lathes, and mills is advantageous.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and basic repair of production machinery is preferred.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on equipment is a plus.
- Ability to work on a production line and meet production targets.
- Comfort reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing facility that is non-climate controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. You will work on or around production lines and metal fabrication equipment, including stamping machines, CNC machinery, press brakes, shears, lathes, and mills, as well as using hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Columbus, OH.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $45760.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
