Quality Control Technician
Job Description
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for conducting timely and accurate testing on production samples to ensure they conform to established specifications. This role includes printing 'red/R&D' batch cards, container labels, and performing tests on raw materials or HLB production samples as assigned.
Responsibilities- Perform basic bench testing including pH, viscosity, moisture content, LOD, and titrations (manual and automated).
- Calibrate equipment manually both inside and outside the lab.
- Gather samples from the manufacturing floor.
- Input data into the proprietary computer system accurately.
- Read and write in English effectively.
- Approve batches that meet current specifications.
- Maintain records according to specified requirements.
- Dispose of old samples or waste in compliance with established guidelines.
- Process customer requirements related to product or shipment quality.
- Standardize lab solutions and calibrate lab equipment according to SOPs.
- Operate high-temperature ovens, hot plates, viscometers, photocopiers, and laser printers.
- Bachelor's Degree in Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, etc.)
- Experience in moisture, particle size, viscosity, and softening tests.
- Hands-on experience with wet chemistry, Karl Fischer titrations.
- At least 2 years of experience in chemical manufacturing.
- Proficiency in using hot plates, viscometers, and ovens.
- Experience with microbial testing involving bacteria.
- Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office and GMP standards.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of ISO standards.
- Flexibility to work a variable schedule to cover shifts as needed.
- Capability to work with wire drawing lubricants and specialty products.
The role is based in a production environment with heavy industrial machinery and forklifts, which is not temperature regulated. The job involves working with powders, making it potentially dusty in production areas. The lab environment can be variable, with shifts handling between 5 to 50 samples. The technician will work alongside three other team members and may occasionally work alone. This role requires significant standing, except when entering data. The position is on a second shift with hours from Monday to Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Thursday hours are flexible based on production needs. Training involves varying hours between day and afternoon shifts. The direct manager does not work on-site, but there will be regular touchpoints throughout the week.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
