Location: North Sarasota
Position Summary:We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Control Specialist to support manufacturing operations by ensuring material availability, monitoring production schedules, and coordinating cross-functional activities to meet customer delivery commitments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with SAP, production planning, inventory management, and manufacturing operations.
This role serves as a critical link between Production, Supply Chain, Planning, and Warehouse teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow and successful execution of the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
Required Qualifications:
Candidates MUST have:
- Experience using SAP in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in Production Control, Production Planning, Materials Management, Scheduling, or Supply Chain Operations.
- Experience supporting production schedules within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of inventory management, material flow, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to analyze production and inventory data and make recommendations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Schedule Execution:
Execute and monitor daily and weekly production schedules in alignment with the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
- Track production performance against schedule commitments and identify potential risks to delivery.
- Escalate production constraints, schedule conflicts, and material shortages to leadership.
- Support recovery plans to minimize disruptions and maintain on-time delivery performance.
- Release, prioritize, and monitor work orders to support manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate production priorities with operations teams to ensure efficient workflow.
Material Management & Inventory Control:
- Ensure material availability to support production schedules and customer demand.
- Coordinate with Supply Chain, Planning, Purchasing, and Warehouse teams to resolve material shortages.
- Monitor inventory levels and proactively address supply risks.
- Track critical materials and expedite components as needed to prevent production delays.
- Support inventory accuracy initiatives, cycle counts, and material reconciliation activities.
- Review material requirements and maintain appropriate inventory levels to support production.
SAP & ERP System Management:
- Utilize SAP to manage production orders, inventory transactions, material requirements, and production reporting.
- Maintain accurate production and inventory data within SAP.
- Monitor and update work order status, material availability, and production progress.
- Generate reports and analyze data to support operational decision-making.
- Ensure system transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Serve as the primary liaison between Production, Supply Chain, Planning, Warehouse, and Quality departments.
- Communicate schedule changes, shortages, and production priorities to key stakeholders.
- Participate in production meetings and planning reviews.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing efficiency, reducing lead times, and improving delivery performance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in aerospace, aviation, manufacturing, defense, or industrial production environments.
- Knowledge of MRP, ERP, inventory control, and demand planning processes.
- Experience supporting high-volume or highly regulated manufacturing operations.
- APICS/CPIM certification or related supply chain certification preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sarasota, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
