Machine Operator (Manual Lathe)

Location: Palmyra, NY

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Pay: $20-$22/hr.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and dependable Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team in Palmyra, NY. In this role, you will assist with setting up and operating manual engine lathes to produce high-quality products while maintaining safety and quality standards. We are open to candidates with varying levels of experience who are eager to learn and grow their machining skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate manual engine lathes
  • Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools
  • Read and follow work instructions, standard operating procedures, and customer specifications
  • Ensure products meet quality standards
  • Safely move materials using hoists and overhead cranes
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members
  • Follow all safety and manufacturing procedures
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating manual lathes or other machining equipment
  • Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring tools
  • Experience in machining, manufacturing, or industrial environments
  • Completion of a machinist apprenticeship or vocational training program
  • Experience using hoists and cranes
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions and specifications
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Palmyra, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
