Fabrication Supervisor
Job Description
The Fabrication Supervisor is a pivotal operations leader responsible for executing daily manufacturing activities in a fast-paced, precision machining environment. This role ensures mission readiness by delivering production output, meeting order fulfillment requirements, and maintaining alignment with engineering and quality standards. The Supervisor leads a team of Machinists within a large-scale production facility, focusing on disciplined execution, problem-solving, and continuous process improvement to achieve operational and financial objectives.
Responsibilities- Execute established operational procedures to ensure consistent and reliable production performance.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure timely completion of work to meet delivery commitments.
- Manage personnel assignments, equipment availability, and tooling readiness to sustain operational effectiveness.
- Assign and supervise work activities, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and precision tolerances.
- Interpret engineering requirements and coordinate with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve technical or process issues.
- Analyze production demand and develop resource plans (personnel, equipment, tooling, and materials) to meet operational requirements.
- Support adherence to budget and cost-control measures while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Identify inefficiencies, production constraints, and risks; implement corrective actions to improve performance and throughput.
- Assist with reporting, audits, and tracking of operational metrics to ensure accountability and performance alignment.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.
- Provide clear directions, coaching, and feedback to ensure personnel are trained and equipped to meet expectations.
- Promote a safe, disciplined, and mission-focused work environment.
- Drive performance management processes, ensuring goals are clearly communicated and achieved.
- Lead initiatives to improve workflow, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles to reduce waste and enhance performance.
- Support line balancing, production flow improvements, and process standardization efforts.
- 3-5 years of leadership or supervisory experience in fabrication, manufacturing, or related operations.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage resources, and execute in high-paced environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of ownership and accountability in decision-making.
- Proven experience with process improvement; Lean principles and workflow optimization preferred.
- Ability to train, coach, influence, and motivate personnel while maintaining high accountability and performance standards.
- Good understanding of CNC machining processes, equipment, and technical workflows.
- Bachelor's degree in operations, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field, or equivalent work/military experience.
- Experience in continuous flow manufacturing environments with application of Lean principles.
- Understanding how to interpret blueprints, specifications, and assembly processes.
- Experience with MRP systems and production planning tools preferred.
This position offers various shift options: 1st shift (Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM), 2nd shift (Monday to Friday, 3:30 PM – midnight), and a weekend shift (Friday to Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM). The supervisor will oversee a team of 15-20 machinists. The work environment is currently demanding, with additional work on Saturdays (half day). The role reports to the Fabrication Manager.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Valencia, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $107000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
