Job Description

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician II who will operate under minimal supervision to set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment, ensuring responsibility for production and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, routine inspections, and ad-hoc repairs on assigned conveyors, automation, robotics, and ancillary equipment as needed.
  • Record all maintenance issues in the maintenance log for each line and document work in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Maintain accurate records of all operating logs for fire pumps, generators, HVAC equipment, and other facility systems.
  • Mentor maintenance personnel to develop appropriate skillsets and knowledge of equipment.
  • Assist maintenance mechanics with tasks requiring two people or operationally demanding situations.
  • Perform facility and building project work including light bulb/ballast replacement, door repairs, furniture installation, ceiling tile replacement, carpentry duties, and plumbing repairs.
  • Assemble and test equipment to verify correct operation and production, analyze production delays, and resolve equipment malfunctions.
  • Certify on all industrial lift equipment such as pickers, reaches, skates, booms, and scissor lifts.
  • Oversee projects related to minor space renovations, inventory management, contractor oversight, and building efficiency improvements.
  • Inspect and monitor the routine maintenance provided by junior engineers, providing guidance and training as needed.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in industrial maintenance, with knowledge in mechanical, pneumatics, troubleshooting, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and perform electrical troubleshooting on 3-phase systems.
  • Experience working with conveyors, logistics, motors, and installations.
  • Experience in a technical or mechanical environment, preferably within distribution or manufacturing (6 months to 1 year).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an apprenticeship program or hold a current trade certification.
  • Understanding of machinery/equipment and basic skills in multiple computer software packages.
  • Experience with inputs, outputs, and PLC logic systems, with troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes.
  • Ability to learn new equipment as it is brought online.

Work Environment

This is a 3rd shift position, Monday through Thursday from 10:30 pm to 8:30 am, with the potential for extended shifts up to 12 hours. The role is based in a distribution center and involves physical activities such as lifting, bending, and working at heights. Overtime and on-call availability may be required. Safety procedures and PPE usage are mandatory.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $90480.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
