Job Description
The Maintenance Technician provides preventative and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair services for industrial production equipment and building infrastructure to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient operation across a multi-building facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform approximately 70% of work on preventative and predictive maintenance activities for industrial production equipment and building infrastructure.
- Follow all safety and environmental policies and procedures at all times while performing maintenance tasks.
- Use documented instructions to complete assigned preventative maintenance tasks on machinery and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair production equipment and infrastructure systems as required to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
- Conduct ongoing evaluation of equipment and facility risks and support implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
- Perform root-cause analysis on machine failures to identify underlying issues and recommend long-term corrective actions.
- Communicate clearly and effectively within the maintenance department and with production personnel regarding equipment status, repair progress, and maintenance needs.
- Participate in and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability, process efficiency, and safety.
- Work individually and as part of a team to complete maintenance tasks in a timely and organized manner.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal departments and external vendors to support maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to maintenance work, repairs, and equipment history.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with equipment, systems, and maintenance best practices.
- Take part in rotating on-call duties to support after-hours or emergency maintenance needs.
- Operate material handling and access equipment such as forklifts and scissor lifts when required to perform maintenance tasks.
- Adhere to facility cleanliness and organization standards within maintenance work areas.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Basic understanding of PLC-controlled systems is preferred.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting is an asset.
- Ability to read and work from electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Experience in industrial maintenance within a production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production and engineering.
- Comfort working across multiple buildings with different types of equipment and processes.
- Strong relationship-building skills with internal departments and external vendors.
- Commitment to ongoing training and professional development in maintenance practices.

Work Environment
The role is based in a very clean production environment that spans multiple buildings, with areas dedicated to different types of work such as welding, bending, and assembly. The technician works around industrial equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, pneumatic and hydraulic components, and building infrastructure. The position involves operating forklifts and scissor lifts, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work is performed in an industrial setting with a strong focus on safety, organization, and clear documentation, and includes participation in rotating on-call duties to support the facility’s operational needs.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
