Industrial Maintenance Mechanic ($20-30/hour - Shawnee, OK)

Job Description

This role focuses on performing mechanical maintenance and welding on a wide range of heavy industrial production equipment in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on large production machinery, including level winds, breakdown blocks, a 3000-ton extrusion press, pilger mill, annealers, air compressors, billet gas-fired furnaces, induction coils for heating billets, chillers, water pumps, hydraulic pumps, and pneumatic pumps.
  • Carry out stick welding and other welding tasks required to maintain, repair, or modify machinery and structural components.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including hoses, valves, cylinders, and pumps, to ensure reliable operation and safety
  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues using logical troubleshooting methods and repair or replace components as needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment according to established schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Train on day shift for several weeks to learn plant equipment, procedures, and safety practices before transitioning to assigned off shift.

Work Environment

This position is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing plant. The facility operates multiple shifts: first shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., second shift from 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and third shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime on Saturdays as needed. New hires train and work on day shift for approximately 6–8 weeks to become familiar with equipment and procedures before transitioning to their assigned off shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shawnee, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.50 - $26.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
