Inspector
Job Description
The Photo Etch Inspector verifies the quality of precision metal parts through visual inspection and dimensional checks against documented criteria, removes parts from sheets using appropriate tools, and accurately packages parts for shipment. This role follows detailed production travelers and company documentation, works under direct supervision, and plays a key role in ensuring that parts meet strict company and customer quality standards.
Responsibilities- Read and follow instructions on production travelers and other company documentation to complete all required inspection and processing tasks.
- Accurately complete company documentation to record manufacturing lot information, measurements, and inspection results.
- Process parts in accordance with established instructions and techniques while working under direct supervision.
- Inspect parts at a bench using a microscope to determine conformance with company and customer inspection criteria.
- Use drop gauges and handheld micrometers to measure material thickness and verify dimensional specifications.
- Use handheld tools to form metal parts as required by the production process.
- Remove parts from sheets using scissors, clippers, or hand-powered cut-off tools, depending on part design and requirements.
- Perform visual inspection and quality checks to identify nonconforming parts and ensure overall product quality.
- Identify inspection improvement opportunities and make recommendations that help lower part costs and increase processing efficiency within the inspection department and the plant.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow established quality control and quality assurance procedures throughout the inspection process.
- Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment to meet production and quality goals.
- Apply strong time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Experience with inspection, quality control, quality assurance, and quality inspection processes.
- Proficiency in visual inspection techniques, including microscope-based inspection at a bench.
- Ability to use measurement tools such as drop gauges and handheld micrometers to verify material thickness and dimensions.
- Skill in using handheld tools to form metal parts and remove parts from sheets using scissors, clippers, or hand-powered cut-off tools.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plymouth, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
