Quality Inspector
Job Description
The Quality Inspector performs first-piece, incoming, and in-process inspections to ensure products meet established quality standards and ISO 9001 requirements. This role supports production teams, maintains accurate defect data, and contributes to corrective actions that improve overall quality and consistency.
Responsibilities- Perform all first-piece inspections as required to verify that initial production output meets specified quality standards and customer requirements.
- Conduct incoming inspections on materials and components to ensure they comply with established specifications before release to production.
- Carry out in-process inspections as directed to monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process and identify issues early.
- Support and follow all quality procedures in alignment with ISO and the company’s quality system requirements.
- Assist production personnel and less experienced inspectors with in-process inspections, providing guidance on inspection methods and use of measuring equipment.
- Use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other standard bench measuring equipment to perform accurate measurements and inspections.
- Interpret blueprints and apply GD&T principles to verify dimensional and geometric tolerances during inspections.
- Track defect data in a structured manner to identify trends, recurring issues, and areas for improvement.
- Participate in corrective action activities by providing inspection data, contributing to root cause analysis, and supporting implementation of solutions.
- Maintain organized and accurate inspection records and documentation in accordance with quality system requirements.
- Collaborate with quality and production teams to ensure consistent application of inspection and quality control methods.
- Adhere to all safety and quality standards while working in the inspection and production areas.
- Minimum of 3 years of quality inspection experience.
- Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and standard bench measuring equipment for precise measurements.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and the ability to apply it when interpreting blueprints and specifications.
- Knowledge of inspection techniques and quality control methods in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience performing first-piece, incoming, and in-process inspections.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings for inspection purposes.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 quality system requirements and how they apply to inspection processes.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in measurement, documentation, and defect tracking.
- Ability to work collaboratively with production and quality teams and support less experienced inspectors.
- AA degree or equivalent training is preferred.
- Preferred certifications include ASQ Certification, ISO 9001 Certification, Project Management, and Lean/Six Sigma.
- Familiarity with using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges in a production or quality environment.
- Experience participating in corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong organizational skills for maintaining inspection records and defect data.
- Effective communication skills to provide feedback to production teams and collaborate on quality improvements.

Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a production and quality inspection environment where precise measurement and attention to detail are critical. The role involves regular use of calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other standard bench measuring equipment to perform inspections in accordance with ISO 9001 quality system requirements. Work is performed on a defined shift schedule in coordination with production operations, requiring consistent adherence to safety and quality procedures while working in and around manufacturing equipment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Roseville, MN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
