Job Title: Electrical Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking experienced Electrical Mechanics for multiple commercial and residential construction projects throughout NYC. Opportunities are available on day, afternoon, and night shifts depending on project needs. Electricians will perform installations, conduit work, wiring, and troubleshooting while working safely and efficiently in active construction environments.

Responsibilities
  • Install, bend, and route EMT, rigid, and other conduit systems.
  • Pull, terminate, and test electrical wiring and feeders.
  • Install electrical panels, switchgear, transformers, lighting, and power systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.
  • Lay out electrical work from prints and coordinate installations with other trades.
  • Install switches, receptacles, lighting fixtures, and branch circuits.
  • Perform rough-in and finish work on commercial and residential projects.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and make necessary repairs.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.
  • Follow OSHA regulations, site safety requirements, and company standards.
Essential Skills
  • 6+ years of electrical experience on commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
  • Strong EMT conduit bending and installation skills.
  • Experience pulling wire and making terminations.
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints and electrical drawings.
  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Experience with electrical rough-in and finish work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation preferred.
Certifications
  • SST Card required for NYC projects
  • Additional site-specific certifications may be required
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience on high-rise, multifamily, commercial, healthcare, or fit-out projects.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm, lighting control, and low-voltage systems is a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work overtime and different shifts as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
