Job Description
This role focuses on producing high-quality ground screws used in solar farms and construction sites. You will perform small hand welds and operate a robotic welding machine to ensure each ground screw meets strict quality standards. You will start and monitor welds, correct any weld discrepancies, and conduct quality checks throughout the entire production process.
Responsibilities
- Perform small hand MIG welds on metal components as part of the ground screw manufacturing process.
- Set up, operate, and monitor a robotic welding machine to complete welds accurately and efficiently.
- Start welds correctly and ensure proper weld penetration, alignment, and consistency.
- Inspect welds continuously during production and identify any defects or discrepancies.
- Correct and repair welds when quality issues or irregularities arise.
- Load materials and components into welding fixtures or machines safely and efficiently.
- Support general fabrication tasks as needed to keep production flowing smoothly.
- Perform general labor duties related to welding and fabrication, such as handling parts and maintaining a clean work area.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the entire process to ensure all finished ground screws meet required specifications.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working with welding equipment and machinery.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience with MIG welding.
- Ability to operate and monitor robotic welding machines.
- Experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Basic understanding of welding quality standards and defect identification.
- Ability to perform small hand welds and adjust welds as needed.
- Comfort working with fabrication tools and equipment.
- Ability to handle general labor tasks in a production setting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality checks throughout the process.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with robotic welding systems in a production environment.
- Experience in metal fabrication or related manufacturing processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment or weld issues and make adjustments.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new welding technologies and processes.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills in a shop or plant environment.

Work Environment
This position is based in a manufacturing environment focused on producing ground screws for solar farms and construction sites. You will work around welding equipment, robotic welding machines, and fabrication tools, with regular handling of metal components. The role operates on two structured shifts: 1st shift from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 2nd shift from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The setting is typical of an industrial shop or plant, where safety procedures, proper use of equipment, and appropriate work attire are essential.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Saint Louis, MO.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
