Job Description
The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician (Maintenance Technician II) supports the operations maintenance team by installing, maintaining, and repairing automated packaging, distribution, and material handling equipment, including conveyors and pneumatic systems. This role focuses on performing quality predictive and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues, and ensuring equipment reliability in a large, highly automated distribution environment.
Responsibilities- Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment such as automated conveyor systems and related components.
- Perform predictive and preventative maintenance routines on material handling equipment, including completing all required documentation and procedures.
- Conduct battery changes and perform preventive maintenance on industrial batteries to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Enter downtime data accurately into daily logs and complete preventive maintenance (PM) sheets in a timely manner.
- Manage and process work orders within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including updating status and documenting work performed.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues on material handling and automated systems to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to support maintenance and repair activities.
- Apply electrical and electronic principles to maintain and repair automated conveyor systems, motors, and controls.
- Follow and demonstrate established safety standards while performing all maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with equipment and facility safety procedures.
- Track, organize, and store department inventory, including spare parts and critical components, to support efficient maintenance operations.
- Support building operations by troubleshooting basic input and output functions related to equipment controls.
- Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
- Operate, maintain, and support robotic and high-speed automation equipment as required within the facility.
- Use Microsoft Office applications to create and update reports, maintenance records, and other documentation related to equipment performance and work orders.
- At least 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures.
- 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls.
- 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.
- 2+ years of knowledge and practical experience with electrical and electronic principles.
- 2+ years of experience following and demonstrating safety standards in an industrial or maintenance environment.
- 1+ year of experience troubleshooting and performing diagnostics on MHE systems.
- 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience working with automated conveyor systems and material handling equipment.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments performing maintenance on complex systems and industrial equipment, including diagnostics, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and creating work orders.
- Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing conveyors and other material handling equipment, including controls and robotics.
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage work orders and maintenance records.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions of building operations and equipment controls.
- Continuous improvement mindset with a desire to learn and grow within a highly automated maintenance environment.
- Experience working with MHE safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines and facility safety standards.
- Associate degree or higher from a vocational school or college with a focus in mechanical or electrical fields, or equivalent technical education.
- 2+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience in the mechanical or electrical field.
- 2+ years of experience working with PLC-based control systems.
- Experience with robotic operation and maintenance in a high-speed automated environment.

Work EnvironmentThis role operates in a large, high-volume distribution facility featuring high-speed automation and extensive robotic components. You work around automated conveyor systems, material handling equipment, and advanced control systems in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. Performance is tracked through data and metrics to ensure expectations are clear and progress is measurable, without day-to-day micromanagement. The position requires frequent walking, with candidates expected to be comfortable walking approximately 10,000 steps per day and handling loads up to 49 pounds as part of normal duties. Shifts follow a 10-hour schedule, and all candidates must be open to working any available 10-hour shift based on operational needs. The environment is industrial, with typical warehouse conditions and appropriate safety procedures and personal protective equipment in place.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
