Job Description
This role performs entry to mid-level break-fix and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment and systems. The Maintenance Technician supports reliable operations by adjusting functional parts and control instruments, repairing or replacing defective components, and reconditioning or repairing machine tools. The position works within established maintenance and industry standards, supports continuous improvement and quality control, and collaborates closely with other team members to maintain safe, efficient, and compliant operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform entry to mid-level break-fix and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment and systems.
- Recondition or repair machine tools to extend equipment life and maintain reliability.
- Identify and request needed parts, supplies, and repair items to support maintenance activities.
- Provide support and backup for other maintenance team members as directed by leadership.
- Follow and support Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), continuous improvement initiatives, and quality control requirements.
- Ensure compliance with 5S and housekeeping standards to maintain an organized and safe work area.
- Set up and operate simple machining operations, including but not limited to lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metalworking tools to fabricate or repair parts, as required.
- Perform basic welding tasks when needed to support maintenance and repair work.
- Update maintenance records accurately and review Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) history to inform maintenance decisions.
- Use electrical troubleshooting tools, including a multimeter, to diagnose faults in industrial electrical systems.
- Work overtime and adjust to flexible schedules as needed to support production and maintenance priorities.
- Communicate effectively with team members and leadership, and collaborate in a fast-paced environment to complete tasks efficiently.
Essential Skills
- In-depth troubleshooting skills with PLC systems (PLC-S).
- Ability to read and use a multimeter for electrical diagnostics.
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience working with industrial electrical equipment.
- Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude with at least 2 years of experience.
- Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices, including both electrical and mechanical aspects.
- Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics in an industrial setting.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of control systems circuitry.
- Proficiency in preventative maintenance and maintenance repair activities.
- Capability to perform basic machining operations such as operating a lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools.
- Ability to perform basic welding tasks as needed.
- Familiarity with maintenance industry standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Understanding of continuous improvement principles and quality control.
- Ability to update and review records in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Ability to work overtime and adapt to flexible schedules.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to work as a cooperative team player and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with industrial maintenance combining electrical and mechanical responsibilities.
- Hands-on experience with motors, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Experience with industrial maintenance involving hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Familiarity with 5S principles and housekeeping standards in an industrial environment.
- Experience participating in continuous improvement (CI) projects focused on process improvement and cost savings.
- Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled industrial environment.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintenance priorities.
- Ability to provide support and backup for other maintenance team members as needed.

Work Environment
The role is based in a non-climate-controlled industrial environment, where temperatures may vary with the seasons and production conditions. The Maintenance Technician works around industrial equipment such as motors, control systems, machining tools (including lathes, drill presses, and grinders), and other metalworking tools. The position requires working in a fast-paced setting with flexible schedules and overtime as needed to support production demands. The work environment emphasizes Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), continuous improvement, quality control, and adherence to 5S and housekeeping standards to maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
