Job Description
This role supports shipping and receiving operations in a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on accurate order processing, careful packaging, and inventory control. You will prepare products for domestic and international shipment, verify all documentation, and assist with general warehouse and inventory activities. Responsibilities- Package and prepare products for domestic, national, and international shipments, ensuring they are protected and compliant with shipping requirements.
- Verify that products, quantities, and specifications match job travelers, order requirements, and shipping paperwork before shipment.
- Create and print shipping labels and documentation using various carrier platforms and tools.
- Utilize DHL, UPS, FedEx, and related shipping platforms, including systems such as WorldShip, to process shipments accurately.
- Update inventory and shipment tracking information within ERP systems to maintain accurate records and traceability.
- Operate pallet jacks to safely move materials, pallets, and finished goods throughout the facility.
- Build, modify, and customize packaging as needed using tools such as saws, drills, and air-powered tools to protect sensitive products.
- Wrap pallets securely and stage shipments in the appropriate area for carrier pickup.
- Support receiving activities by unloading, checking, and recording incoming materials and components as needed.
- Assist with inventory activities, including counting, organizing, and replenishing materials and finished goods.
- Perform general warehouse duties such as order picking, packing, and material handling to support production and shipping schedules.
- Follow written instructions, job travelers, and company procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency in all tasks.
- Assist with housekeeping by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe workspace in shipping, receiving, and warehouse areas.
- Adhere to company quality and safety procedures, including safe use of pallet jacks, basic power tools, and other equipment.
- Collaborate with team members and support other operational needs throughout the facility, including packaging, warehouse support, and inventory-related tasks.
- Experience with packaging, shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, and inventory handling in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Demonstrated attention to detail when matching products to job travelers, order requirements, and shipping paperwork.
- Ability to package sensitive or fragile products carefully to prevent damage during transit.
- Basic computer skills to create labels, update records, and work within shipping and ERP systems.
- Ability to stand, bend, walk, and move throughout the shift while performing material handling tasks.
- Ability to lift materials up to 60 lbs throughout the workday.
- Ability to follow written instructions, procedures, and job travelers accurately.
- Reliable transportation to consistently arrive on time and support a small team environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and dependability in maintaining shipping schedules and customer deliveries.
- Willingness to learn new systems and processes, including carrier platforms and ERP tools.
- Effective teamwork skills, including the ability to assist with inventory, warehouse activities, housekeeping, and other operational needs.
- Previous manufacturing experience, particularly in environments such as medical device, electronics, aerospace, precision, industrial manufacturing, or small machine shops.
- Previous warehouse or distribution center experience involving packing, material handling, and order picking.
- Experience packaging fragile or sensitive products that require careful handling and protection.
- Inventory management experience, including cycle counts, stock rotation, and inventory accuracy.
- Experience working within ERP systems for inventory, shipping, and order tracking.
- Hands-on experience using shipping tools and platforms such as UPS shipping, FedEx shipping, DHL shipping, WorldShip, and related systems.
- Experience using pallet jacks and, if available, forklifts to move materials safely.
- Familiarity with RF scanners for order picking, inventory, and shipment tracking.
- Comfort using basic power tools, including saws, drills, and air-powered tools, to build or modify packaging.
- Problem-solving skills to address shipping, packaging, and inventory issues as they arise.
- Background in warehousing operations or packaging companies that handle high-mix, high-precision products.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a manufacturing and machine shop environment that supports medical product production. You will work across warehouse, packaging, and shipping areas in a fast-paced yet team-oriented workplace. Employees regularly move throughout the facility and spend much of the day standing, walking, lifting, and performing material handling tasks. The position involves frequent use of pallet jacks and basic power tools such as saws, drills, and air-powered tools to build and modify packaging. You will work around manufacturing equipment and production operations in a clean, organized, and safety-focused facility that supports medical-grade product manufacturing, with clear procedures and standards to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Natick, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr.
