Test Technician
Job Description
- Shift: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday
- Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
- Training: Conducted on the same shift schedule
- Work Location: 100% On-Site
Join a hands-on testing team supporting the development of next-generation medical devices. In this role, you'll perform mechanical and functional testing on pumps, cartridges, and insulin delivery systems to ensure products meet quality, performance, and regulatory standards. You'll follow established test procedures, document results, troubleshoot issues, and work closely with engineering and testing leads to provide feedback on product performance.
What You'll Do- Perform mechanical and functional testing on pumps, cartridges, and related device components.
- Follow testing procedures and inspection instructions to ensure accurate, consistent results.
- Use mechanical tools and test equipment to verify product functionality and quality.
- Record and maintain test data in computer-based systems.
- Communicate test findings, issues, and trends to team leads.
- Troubleshoot devices and investigate failures using mechanical and electronic diagnostic tools.
- Interpret schematics and utilize electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes.
- Conduct quality inspections and support QA/QC activities.
- Maintain detailed documentation and communicate through Outlook, Teams, and other software tools.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and testing protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to complete assigned testing projects and priorities.
- Ensure reliable on-site attendance to support scheduled testing activities.
- Experience performing mechanical, functional, or product testing.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Hands-on experience using mechanical tools and test equipment.
- Basic electronics knowledge and familiarity with electronic components.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and work instructions accurately.
- Experience with quality inspection, quality assurance, or quality control processes.
- Ability to read schematics and use diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes.
- Soldering experience.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills.
- Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.
- Reliable attendance and ability to work on-site consistently.
- Experience testing medical devices or other regulated products.
- Familiarity with insulin delivery systems or precision fluid delivery devices.
- Experience working in environments with regulatory documentation requirements.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to learn new testing methods and adapt to custom, non-routine test procedures.
- Good organizational and documentation skills.

This is a laboratory-style mechanical testing environment focused on pumps and insulin delivery systems. Daily work includes using mechanical tools, electronic test equipment, computers, and collaboration software. Testing activities are assigned weekly and daily, providing a mix of projects and challenges while maintaining a strong focus on quality, compliance, and attention to detail.

This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
