Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 + Benefits

About the Opportunity

A well-established real estate development and construction organization is seeking an experienced Commercial Superintendent to lead complex renovation and redevelopment projects throughout the Baltimore region. This role is ideal for a construction leader who thrives in challenging environments and has a passion for transforming existing buildings into vibrant, highly functional spaces.

The organization specializes in commercial redevelopment, adaptive reuse, and historic rehabilitation projects. Current and future projects include the renovation of significant commercial and industrial assets, requiring a superintendent who can successfully manage field operations while balancing quality, schedule, safety, and preservation requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all day-to-day field operations from project startup through closeout.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and onsite personnel to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors.
  • Lead site safety efforts and maintain compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
  • Conduct regular site meetings and maintain detailed project documentation.
  • Monitor quality control and ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and historic preservation requirements when applicable.
  • Identify and resolve field challenges proactively to minimize delays.
  • Manage project schedules, logistics plans, and sequencing activities.
  • Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders to support successful project execution.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and trade partners.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent managing commercial construction projects.
  • Proven experience leading historic renovation, historic preservation, adaptive reuse, or restoration projects preferred.
  • Alternatively, experience managing large-scale commercial projects valued at $30M+ will be strongly considered.
  • Background in commercial, institutional, mixed-use, industrial, or multifamily construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, quality control, and jobsite safety.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with construction management software and project scheduling tools is a plus.
Preferred Experience
  • Historic tax credit or preservation-related projects.
  • Occupied renovation environments.
  • Commercial redevelopment and adaptive reuse projects.
  • Complex renovation work involving structural repairs, building envelope restoration, and infrastructure upgrades.
