Put Your Welding Skills to Work on Large-Scale Steel Fabrication ProjectsWe're seeking an experienced Welder & Fabricator with strong Flux Core Dual Shield welding experience to join a growing fabrication team producing large steel tanks and structural steel components. This role combines structural welding and fabrication work in a busy steel yard environment where craftsmanship, safety, and teamwork are highly valued. You'll work with detailed blueprints, perform critical welds on heavy steel components, and contribute to projects that demand precision and consistency.
Key Responsibilities- Weld large steel tanks and structural steel components using Flux Core Dual Shield welding processes.
- Perform welding on steel ranging from approximately 1/4-inch and greater thicknesses.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.
- Execute high-quality welds in:
- 2G Horizontal
- 3G Vertical
- 4G Overhead
- Complete fitting and fabrication tasks, including material preparation, alignment, layout, and assembly.
- Perform open-root welding with back grinding when required.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality and structural requirements.
- Use measuring tools and fabrication equipment to verify dimensions and fit-up.
- Operate common fabrication and welding tools safely and effectively.
- Assist in maintaining production schedules while meeting safety and quality expectations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all company safety procedures.
- Minimum of 3 years of recent Flux Core welding experience in a structural steel or fabrication environment.
- Proven experience with Dual Shield Flux Core welding processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols.
- Proficiency welding in 2G, 3G, and 4G positions.
- Experience with structural steel welding and heavy fabrication projects.
- Ability to pass a hands-on weld test that includes:
- Open root welding
- Back grinding
- Welding both sides of a 1/2-inch plate
- Experience using .045 Flux Core wire, with the ability to work with 1/16-inch wire as needed.
- Basic fabrication skills including fitting, measuring, layout, and material preparation.
- Ability to safely use fabrication tools including:
- Tape measure
- Chipping hammer
- Adjustable wrenches
- Pry bars
- Mallets and layout tools
- Previous experience fabricating and welding tanks, vessels, or similar heavy steel structures.
- Experience working in a structural steel fabrication facility or steel yard environment.
- Familiarity with open-root welding and back-grind procedures.
- TIG welding experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality welds.
- Proven track record of working safely in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Schedule options typically include:
- Monday-Thursday, 4:00 AM-2:30 PM
- Tuesday-Friday, 4:00 AM-2:30 PM
This is a Permanent position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
