This role focuses on cutting and preparing various metals in a fabrication shop environment using bandsaws and chop saws. You will follow detailed blueprints, measure accurately with tape measures, and work closely with other fabrication professionals to support production needs. This position is ideal for someone with prior shop experience using saws and fabrication equipment who is comfortable reading blueprints and working with precision.

Responsibilities
  • Cut various metals accurately using bandsaws and chop saws in a fabrication shop setting.
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine correct measurements, cuts, and material requirements.
  • Use a tape measure to take precise measurements and verify dimensions before and after cutting.
  • Operate fabrication equipment safely and efficiently, including saws and other shop tools.
  • Work around and support other fabrication processes, such as welding and press brake operations, as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment remain in good working condition.
  • Follow all safety procedures and shop guidelines while working around large machinery and welding areas.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience using bandsaws to cut metal.
  • Hands-on experience using chop saws in a fabrication or shop environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for fabrication work.
  • Proficiency using tape measures and working with precise measurements.
  • Previous experience in a fabrication shop or similar industrial setting.
  • Comfort working around welding operations and other fabrication equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and operate equipment responsibly.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience operating or working near press brakes, punch presses, or other large fabrication machinery.
  • Background in general metal fabrication, including cutting, forming, or assembling metal components.
  • Familiarity with shop workflows and production processes in a fabrication environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team-focused environment.

Work Environment

You will work in a clean, medium-sized fabrication shop with multiple workstations and designated welding areas. The facility houses large machinery such as press brakes, punch presses, and other fabrication equipment, creating a dynamic and hands-on environment. This is a day-shift position, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with limited overtime, supporting a predictable schedule and work-life balance. The setting is industrial and safety-focused, with appropriate shop attire and personal protective equipment expected while working around metal, welding, and heavy machinery.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nampa, ID.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
