Clinical Pharmacist
Location: Shepherdsville, KY (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
Join a patient-centered pharmacy team where you'll play a key role in supporting medication therapy, educating patients, and collaborating with healthcare providers to deliver exceptional care. This position is highly interactive and involves regular communication with patients, caregivers, physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team.
An active Kentucky pharmacist license is required. Support is provided to obtain a California pharmacist license, including coverage of associated licensing costs.
What You'll Do- Review patient medications for safety, effectiveness, interactions, compliance, and appropriate use.
- Counsel patients on new therapies, including dosing, administration, side effects, and treatment expectations.
- Serve as a key point of contact for patients, caregivers, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Document clinical assessments and recommendations within patient records.
- Verify prescription accuracy and perform final quality checks before dispensing.
- Support specialty pharmacy programs, including REMS requirements and clinical monitoring.
- Assist with prescription processing, claim adjudication issues, and workflow support for pharmacy technicians.
- Educate patients and caregivers on medication administration, including injectable therapies.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, company policies, and quality standards.
- Active Kentucky Pharmacist license in good standing.
- Ability and willingness to obtain a California Pharmacist license (licensing support provided).
- Strong communication skills and comfort spending much of the workday on the phone with patients and healthcare providers.
- Experience counseling patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary care teams.
- Knowledge of pharmacy regulations, medication safety, prescription verification, and quality assurance processes.
This is a fully onsite role based near Shepherdsville, KY. The position is highly patient-focused and phone-intensive, requiring regular communication with patients, caregivers, clinicians, home health agencies, and nursing teams. This is a Contract position based out of Shepherdsville, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $70.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
