Job Description

We are seeking a diligent Processing Operator responsible for overseeing the spaghetti processing lines. This role involves entering recipes into the computer and verifying numbers to ensure the lines are running correctly. Additionally, the operator will perform quality checks and manage changeovers, which include scraping dough out of bins and completing necessary paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor processing lines for spaghetti production.
  • Enter and verify recipe data in the computer system.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on dough and final product.
  • Perform changeovers, including scraping dough from bins.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety procedures, including PRPs, OPRPs, CCPs, and FSMA requirements.

Essential Skills

  • 1+ years of experience in production or food manufacturing.
  • Proficient in process control, production, and manufacturing.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on feet for entire shifts.
  • General knowledge of computer systems.
  • Understanding of food safety and quality procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous mechanical knowledge is preferred.
  • Experience with production process and quality checks in food production.

Work Environment

The work environment can be warm, averaging 80 to 100 degrees. Operators will work in an air-conditioned control room for 30-40% of the time. On the production floor, temperatures range from 85-95 degrees, and the dye wash rooms are wet. The dress code requires jeans or work pants, steel toe boots, and prohibits jewelry and piercings. Necessary protective equipment, including hair nets, beard nets, hard hats, and lab coats, will be provided. The position operates on a shift from 7 AM to 7 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
