The Quality Supervisor maintains and elevates quality standards by approving in-process and finished products, conducting detailed inspections, and accurately recording quality results. This role ensures that all blasted and painted products meet customer, industry, and federal standards, while serving as a key point of contact for customer communications and quality audits.

Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections and tests using specified equipment to verify compliance with process and product specifications.
  • Approve in-process production and finished products according to established specifications and communicate results clearly to floor staff and supervisors.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with customers and consistently meet their quality expectations.
  • Ensure proper record keeping, control, calibration, and maintenance of quality test equipment.
  • Maintain company and customer quality records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Train new employees in quality control methods, proper testing procedures, and safe work habits.
  • Provide feedback on procedures and recommend improvements to production supervisors to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Implement testing procedures outlined by management and aligned with industry standards.
  • Stay current on industry testing practices and new developments relevant to quality control and industrial coatings.
  • Perform quality control procedures to ensure all jobs are completed to specifications, particularly for blasted and painted products.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of procedures for shop-related accidents, alarms, electrical outages, and weather-related emergencies.
  • Maintain a safe work area, follow safety guidelines, and promptly report any unsafe conditions.
  • Promote positive teamwork and collaboration with all associates in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Keep accurate and detailed records, including dates of production, problems encountered, and downtime.
  • Cross-train on other functions within the team to support flexibility and coverage.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management to support overall quality and production goals.
Essential Skills
  • Quality management experience, including oversight of in-process and finished product quality.
  • Quality assurance and quality inspection skills with strong attention to detail.
  • At least 3 years of experience in root cause analysis to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • At least 3 years of experience with quality control practices and leading teams in a production environment.
  • At least 3 years of experience using micrometers and calipers for precise measurements.
  • Hands-on inspection experience, including verifying compliance with process and product specifications.
  • Ability to supervise and train team members in quality control and testing procedures.
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills for maintaining quality records and equipment logs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with floor staff, supervisors, and customers regarding quality results and expectations.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures related to shop accidents, alarms, electrical outages, and weather-related emergencies.
  • High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with industrial coatings and painted products is a plus.
  • Familiarity with blasting and painting processes in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to recommend process improvements based on quality data and observations.
  • Comfort working with and maintaining calibrated test equipment.
  • Strong teamwork orientation and ability to thrive in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Willingness to cross-train in other team functions to support operational flexibility.
Work Environment

This role operates in a hands-on, industrial production environment focused on blasted and painted products. The position involves frequent standing, walking, and climbing on ladders, including entering large products or structures to visually and physically inspect paint quality. Employees regularly use precision measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers, as well as other inspection and testing equipment. The environment is fast-paced and production-oriented, with a strong emphasis on safety, adherence to procedures, and teamwork. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waukesha, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
